What we do

ksb-truck-training-1There is much more to driving a truck than just sitting behind the driver’s wheel. We will take you through, step by step from pre departure inspections, coupling and uncoupling of trailers, reversing of rigids and heavy combinations, load restraint through to vehicle shut down and post departure inspections.

We also do all licence upgrades for those who want to advance in the transport industry. So if you want to go from an MR to a HR or MC then call KSB Heavy Vehicle Driver Training we can help you!

KSB Heavy Vehicle Driver Training is now teaching MC (Multi Combination) licences which cover all B Doubles and Road Trains.

What you need to do

Heavy Vehicle Competency Based Assessment (HVCA) is the best way to obtain a Heavy Vehicle Licence in New South Wales. With changes coming into effect from the 1st September 2015, all licence upgrades are conducted with a separate trainer and assessor. This means that one person does the training and a second person does the final assessment (FCA). At KSB Heavy Vehicle Driver Training we have qualified staff that can ensure that you still receive your licence at the end of the training!

To obtain your licence under the HVCBA with KSB Heavy Vehicle Driver Training, the RMS requires you to pass a knowledge test and an eye sight test. You will then be issued with 2 books: A Guide to Heavy Vehicle Based Assessment and A Heavy Vehicle Competency Based Assessment Learners Log Book. KSB Heavy Vehicle Driver Training strongly recommends you practice the Knowledge Test several times before going to the RMS.

Once you have your log books you will be booked in for your appropriate class of licence and taught at your own pace. Some people learn quickly, others like to take it slower. At KSB Heavy Vehicle Driver Training we are here to make sure you achieve your goal.
